About the Recipe

Make your own croissants for breakfast that can be frozen or left in the fridge to simply be reheated when ready.

Ingredients

  • Bagels or croissants; (you don't have to make more than one or two but if you know you'll like and eat them make as many as you want and freeze them with the date and write what it is. They'll be good up to 3 months.)

  • Eggs equivalent to the number of bagels or croissants you plan to make

  • Favorite cheese (optional)

  • 1/2 a pound of Ham or 12 oz of sausage or 12 oz of bacon (use the meat you prefer on your croissants)

  • Aluminum foil

  • Paper towels

Preparation

Instructions:

  1. Cut your bagels or croissants in half.

  2. Cook one egg at a time in the microwave for a minute and/or stove just be sure not to scramble them unless you enjoy eating your croissants with egg pieces. Once cooked, add the egg to your bagel or croissant.

  3. While your egg cooks, cook up your desired meat such as ham or sausage or bacon. Once cooked, add the meat to your bagel or croissant.

  4. Add your favorite cheese if you'd like (optional).

  5. Add the top part of your bagel or croissant. Let it cool for a few minutes before wrapping in aluminum foil. Write the date and what type of sandwich it is on the top.

  6. When ready to eat, take it out of the freezer and throw away the aluminum foil and place a paper towel around it on a microwaveable safe plate. Microwave for 1 minute on defrost or 50% power. Flip the sandwich over and microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute on high power, until warmed through. Or to help with defrost time take the bagel or croissant out of the freezer the night before and place it in the fridge. When ready to eat, take it out of the fridge and throw away the aluminum foil and place a paper towel around it on a microwaveable safe plate. Microwave for thirty seconds to forty-five seconds depending on your microwave settings.
